St. Lawrence County Rotary Clubs will sponsor a children’s camp at St. Lawrence NYSARC’s Dodge Pond this summer from Aug. 8 to 13.
Located in the foothills of the Adirondacks, Dodge Pond offers children with disabilities a chance to camp in an environment that is an adventure, yet safe.
Dodge Pond has every amenity expected at a traditional camp but is also fully wheelchair accessible.
Over the past several years donations of supplies, time, and expertise from the Massena, Potsdam, Canton and Ogdensburg Rotary Clubs have lead in the completion of various projects such as: building of lean-to sleeping quarters, a construction of a full-size basketball court, an outdoor movie projector & screen, creation of a remote across-the-pond campsite, culminating with and this year’s a nature center lean-to project.
Pictured is Dodge Pond Manager Joe Montgomery, describing the camp at a recent Massena Rotary Club meeting.
To register a child or to seek more information, contact Montgomery at 848-2336 or jmontgomery@slnysarc.org.
St. Lawrence NYSARC is a non-profit membership association dedicated to full inclusion and integration for persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in St. Lawrence County.
Dodge Pond Summer Recreation Rotary Camp is at 521 Cty. Rt. 27, Oswegatchie.
