The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of Emergency Services are announcing an immediate travel advisory for all of St. Lawrence County.

This decision is being based on updates from the National Weather Service and consultation with State and County Highway Officials.

Increase in winds and a predicted increased snowfall rate are deciding factors, many areas in the county will have reduced visibility due to the blowing drifting snow.

Please no unnecessary travel. Schools are closed and other events have been canceled.

Travel to and from work is permitted but please avoid any unnecessary travel.

There is a need for first responders, highway crews and utility crews to be able to work in a safe manner without the unnecessary traffic.

This advisory will be in place until 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15.

St. Lawrence County residents are advised to check with organizers before attending any events today in St. Lawrence County.
