CANTON – A St. Lawrence County inmate was arrested for choking another inmate during an argument at the jail Sunday at 4:28 p.m., according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Joseph J. Belile, 29, St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, police said.
Deputies said Belile put his hands around the neck of Koda A. Parris, 22, St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, and proceeded to choke him.
Belile was arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court by Hon. Camp and returned to jail on $250 bail, police said.
He will answer the charge in Canton Town Court in November, deputies said.
