The St. Lawrence County Multi-Use Trail will remain open until Saturday, Sept. 15, when it closes for hunting season.
The trail reopens Dec. 15 for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and more whenever snow finally arrives.
St. Lawrence County Legislator Tony Arquiett, D-Helena, is encouraging all users of the trail system to follow all rules and regulations to make sure everyone can enjoy outdoor activities in all seasons and for many years to come.
The trail committee would like to thank those individuals who rode their ATVs on the trail safely this riding season and to remind all ATV users that the trails officially close to all ATVs at the end of the day Sept. 15.
During this summer’s ATV season, the multi-use trail was used by many different riders and ATV groups with no accidents reported.
“This is a reflection on how well individuals and groups utilizing the trail assist all riders by following the rules and working together to make the committee’s efforts at bringing this outdoor experience to many members of our communities well worth their time,” said the Trail Committee’s Bill Swafford. “Hope to see everyone out there enjoying this unique trail system as winter approaches. Again, thanks to everyone who have made it a very successful year to date.”
