The Maple Queen has to be between 16 and 24 years of age, and the maple princess has to be between 13 and 15 years of age, and both must have some knowledge of the Maple Industry.
The pageant will be held on Feb. 2 at the Madrid Community Center. The application deadline is Jan. 18. For an application or questions contact Brianne Donnelly-Tulley or Courtney Donnelly, St. Lawrence County Maple Queen Coordinators, at 528-2414 or btulley@tds.net.
If there are any events one wishes to have the queen or princess present and deliver a presentation or speech on Maple please contact the coordinators.
The queen and princess have a code of conduct to follow while holding the title. The are a few required events for them to attend such as the St. Lawrence County Fair, State Pageant, Maple Weekend and the Maple School. It is a great way for them to promote and educate the public about different aspects of the maple industry. The girls will also go to schools to present to students.
