The St. Lawrence County League of Women Voters has released its annual Voters' Guide for 2013.

These Voter Guides are published by the League to help citizens cast an informed vote. Pick up a copy at your local library or view the guide online at: http://lwvny.org/advocacy/elections/2013/VotersGuide_Part%20II_2013.pdf.

The guide includes the six amendments on the November ballot for all of New York State voters.

The polls will be open on Nov. 5 from 6 am to 9 pm in various polling places for each town in St. Lawrence County. Registered voters should have received a postcard with detailed information on individual polling stations from the County Board of Elections.

As a reminder to voters, the deadline to apply for absentee ballot by mail must be postmarked by Tues., Oct. 29. The last day to apply for absentee ballot in person is Mon., Nov. 4.

The last day to deliver the ballot in person (by someone other than the voter) is Tues., Nov. 5, 2013 and by mail is Tues., Nov. 12, 2013.

In addition to the Voter Guides, the League and its civic partners, AAUW-St. Lawrence County, the Center for Excellence in Communication at Clarkson University, and the Media and Communications students under the direction of Dan Dullea, also produce Conversations With Candidates. These 30-minute interviews with state and federal candidates for office are broadcast on a rotating basis between recording and Election Day, Nov. 5, on WKCN and are available on YouTube.
