CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Community Development Program’s Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) has received a perfect score of 100 percent on their annual management assessment.
The review, performed by state and federal auditors, took place at the Canton office in August, to assure the accuracy of documentation and program procedures. Three ratings are possible: Troubled, Standard, and High Achievement. the county program received High Achievement. CDP provides rental assistance to 620 low-income, disabled, and elderly families throughout St. Lawrence County.
The housing program has over 800 applicants on the waitlist. For more information on the programs CDP offers, including weatherization, HCVP, Head Start, Community Actions Angels, transportation, and the Neighborhood Centers, call 386-1102.
