POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence County Historical Association will join in the proposed St. Lawrence County Barn Quilt Trail by painting and installing five barn quilt panels on the Red Barn Addition in early spring.
The 4-by-4-feet panels will feature traditional quilt blocks with a center piece showing some feature of St. Lawrence County (agriculture, water, forests, etc.).
A barn quilt painting workshop was held recently at Snell Hall in Potsdam in space provided by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council, led by Ruth McWilliams and Mary Jane Watson of the Town of Colton Tourism & Beautification Committee.
During the next two weeks, workshop participants along with other volunteers will meet to complete the work on the five panels in anticipation of installation in early spring.
