CANTON – St. Lawrence County Legislators hired Paul Smith as the new Director of Human Resources at their Monday meeting.
Smith was previously employed as the employee relations officer of the Onondaga County’s personnel department.
The St. Lawrence County Human Resources Director position became vacant in December after Christopher Boulio resigned.
The post was one of many the county is working to fill, others include the chief public defender position, which was vacated by Stephen Button and the County Administrator position, which will be vacant March 31.
Lightfoot said the county is actively working on filling both of the remaining positions.
The Human Resources Department provides all aspects of human resources, labor relations, and benefit administration support to all County departments and their employees.
