The St. Lawrence County Community Development Program Head Start, a federally funded school readiness program, has openings across the county.

The program offers all-inclusive services at no cost to families for children ages 3-5 in two options, home-based and center-based.

“We support learning through play and guided activities,” Head Start said in a prepared statement. “We build strong relationships as the foundation of early learning. Head Start promotes language and literacy development, early math and science concepts, and positive attitudes toward learning. Physical development is promoted both indoors and outdoors.”

Healthy meals and snacks are provided. Medical, dental, hearing, vision and behavioral screenings are provided as well. Transportation is provided to centers around the county.

“We help families identify and reach goals around employment and parenting” the release said.

Those interested in Head Start can call 315-386-8574 for more info or to schedule an appointment to apply.
