Gas prices in St. Lawrence County are roughly 40 cents higher than the national average and about 10 to 15 cents higher than the rest of the state.
According to the gas price tracking website GasBuddy.com, the national average gas price is $3.45. In New York the average price is $3.71.
But prices being reported by motorists in St. Lawrence are ranging from $3.79 to $3.89 per gallon, according to the website.
In Ogdensburg reported gas prices range from $3.84 per gallon at Nice and Easy Stores to a high of $3.89 at the Main Street Mobil.
In Potsdam prices range from a low of $3.83 at the Market Street Sunoco to a high of $3.89 at Martins Maple Street Service.
In Norwood gas was selling for $3.82 at Nice ‘N’ Easy on South Main Street and in Gouverneur gas was selling for as low as $3.79 at Bob’s Fuel on County Route 22.
Gas prices for Canton and Massena were not available.
