St. Lawrence County gained 300 non-farm jobs in July over the same month last year, according to the state Department of Labor.
That's a .8 percent rise, DOL said. The total rose to 39,900 last month compared with 39,600 in July 2015.
To our east in Franklin County, the number stayed flat from July 2015 at 18,900, DOL said.
To our west in Jefferson County, the number went up 1,100 to 45,400 last month from 44,300 in July 2015. DOL says that's a 2.5 percent hike.
