St. Lawrence County forecast: Thunderstorms and scattered showers possible today and Saturday before drying out on Sunday

Isolated showers and thunderstorms exit the area this morning, but additional showers and storms are expected to develop over northern New York later this afternoon and tonight, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Patchy fog is possible in parts of the North Country this morning, otherwise expect partly sunny skies with a high near 83 degrees, the service says.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight with an overnight low around 65 forecasted.

This activity exits the area Saturday morning, but more showers and storms will develop over Northern New York Saturday afternoon, NWS says.

Highs on Saturday will be near 79 with a 30 percent chance of precipitation and partly sunny skies, NWS says.

Sunday will be the driest day of the weekend with highs near 76.

The forecast through the middle of next week is as follows:

Saturday

A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. South wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Southwest wind around 9 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday

Partly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind 8 to 11 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.
