CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Fishery Advisory Board and Department of Environmental Conservation will give a discussion on the biology that guides bass fishing and other bass-related topics on March 24.
The event will be at 7 p.m. at the Canton VFW, 34 Gouverneur St.
The St. Lawrence River and eastern basin of Lake Ontario and are unique because their cold water ecology presents multiple stresses that impact this important bass fishery, the DEC said.
DEC and Cornell researchers will make a short presentation at the start of the meetings, including updates on the status of bass fisheries in the eastern basin of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.
The meetings will include time for public comments.
