St. Lawrence County agreed to fill several vacancies at the most recent meeting.

The board of legislators will fill positions at the Youth Bureau, Corrections Department, Information Technology Department, Public Safety Complex.

The board determined it needed a new crew supervisor at the Youth Bureau after it ended it’s season operations Aug. 31.

A corrections position became vacant following a resignation Nov. 15. The county agreed that a new hire would be needed with a starting salary of $41,175.

The Information Technology Department will hire a new mircrocomputer systems coordinator in wake of a Nov. 4 resignation. The board also agreed to hire a custodial worker for the public safety building following a Nov. 29 resignation.

The hires were considered essential to operations.

In 2008, the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators adopted a non-essential services hiring freeze.
