The St. Lawrence County Environmental Management Council (EMC) has a vacancy and is looking for people who are interested in sound, long-term planning and who have a concern for environmental issues facing the county.
The Environmental Management Council consists of 16 members, including an ex-officio member from the Board of Legislators. The EMC advises the county Board of Legislators on matters that affect the environment of the county, provides technical assistance as a staff function and serves as a forum for investigating environmental problems and seeking solutions.
Meetings are held monthly in the evening every the third Wednesday of the month, with committee meetings scheduled in between. Travel mileage to such meetings is reimbursable.
More information is available on the EMC’s web page at http://www.stlawco.org/Departments/Planning/AdvisoryBoards/Environmental....
Members of the EMC are appointed by the Board of Legislators for two-year terms.
Those interested in serving on the EMC may contact the Planning Office at 379-2292, in County Courthouse Room 255 in Canton; or speak with your county legislator.
