MASSENA – St. Lawrence County’s Emergency Services Department is collaborating with the state Office of Emergency Management to coordinate the pre-filling of 10,000 sand bags for the residents and businesses affected by high water in the river communities.
A press release from Michael J. LeCuyer, county emergency services director, Wednesday afternoon said the sand bags will be filled and loaded onto pallets by National Guard troops Thursday, May 18.
If residents have homes or property in danger of flood damage, they should call their municipal highway departments to coordinate the delivery of these pre-filled sand bags.
