CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund gave $10,000 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.

The grant represents a portion of the proceeds from the most recent Edward I. Moses Walk/Run for life, which is held in Canton each spring.

Over the years, the group has awarded almost $150,000 to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for cancer prevention, education, screening, outreach, and treatment.

This year’s grant will help pay for gas and maintenance for the Hospital’s Center for Cancer Service’s patient transport van, provide direct transportation assistance to patients who need to travel out of the area for specialty services, and purchase patient educational materials for the Center’s patient library.

The Hospital Foundation exists to raise and manage funds for the sole benefit of the patients served by Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Donations may be mailed to the Foundation at 50 Leroy Street Potsdam, or made online at www.cphospital.org.
