St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund donates $10,000 to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley

POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund recently donated $10,000 to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley to help offset the costs of the organizations Advanced Illness Management (AIM) Program.

Since 2002, the fund has provided financial support to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley for their programs which provide care for cancer patients.

Throughout this partnership, this support has exceeded $130,000.

“AIM is deeply grateful for the generous support of the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund once again this year,” said Diane Pickering, administrative director for AIM. “This funding helps significantly to offset the cost of providing care to cancer patients in our program.”

The primary fundraiser for the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund is the Edward I. Moses Walk/Run for Life.

Now in its 39th year, this event has raised more than $1.5 million to support local programming to prevent cancer and assist cancer treatment centers in our community.

The E.I. Moses Walk/Run will take place Sunday, April 30, at Appleton Arena in Canton.

For more information or to download a participation form, visit www.walkrunforlife.com.

All proceeds from the run stay in St. Lawrence County.
