St. Lawrence County Arts Council selects 13 local artists to be featured in Fine Art Up North calendar

POTSDAM – The St. Lawrence County Arts Council selected thirteen regional artists who have been selected for publication in their annual Fine Art Up North calendar.

Around 60 image submissions were considered, with thirteen selected images to be featured in the twelve-month calendar plus cover.

The following images will be featured in the 2017 Fine Art Up North Calendar: "Stone Valley Frost," photography by James Bullard; "Thought of Innovating," watercolor on paper by Sharon H.J. Cheng; “Pond Lily,” photograph by Holly Chorba; “Rodney and Paul,” oil on canvas by Joshua Crabtree; “View of Miner Street Bridge, Canton, NY,” watercolor by Judith DeGraaff; “Building Up the North—Wanakena Footbridge,” mixed media by Catherine LaPointe and “After a Spring Rain, Just Before the Drops Fall, May 2016,” photograph by Jeanna Matthews.

The 2017 Fine Art Up North calendar will be available for purchase in July. Online ordering is available at http://slcartscouncil.org/2017-calendar/. Artists who are interested in being featured in the 2018 calendar can register for a free account at https://slcarts.submittable.com; the deadline for artwork is May 10, 2017.
