St. Lawrence County AAUW officials say females should apply for Community Action Grants

St. Lawrence County Branch of AAUW officials say they are encouraging women and girls to apply for Community Action Grants, which provide more than $3.7 million in funding nationwide to individuals and organizations.

Grants include:

• Community Action Grants – for individuals, AAUW branches and states, and nonprofit organizations to fund innovative programs or nondegree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls. There are two grants: the one-year grant is for $2,000-$7,000; the two-year grant is for $5,000-$10,000. The application deadline is Jan. 15. • International Project Grants for alumnae of AAUW’s International Fellowships program who are living in their home countries and pursuing community-based projects to improve the social advancement and economic empowerment of women and girls. • Selected Professions Fellowships – for women pursuing full-time study in a master’s or professional degree program in which women are underrepresented, including STEM, law, business, and medicine with funding from $5,000–$18,000.
