MASSENA -- The St. Lawrence Centre Ice Arena, off of Rt. 37, will be closed Oct. 29 to 31 to lay out a fresh sheet of ice and generally “spruce up” the place with painting and cleaning.
Glen Danischewski, with management company Rink Management Services, said the focus is on getting the rink into top shape for the most popular skating season. “Winter is our time,” Danischewski said, “the time when everyone thinks about ice skating and ice hockey, and we want to make sure the ice arena is in prime condition for the heavy use months ahead.
“We also hope all those trick or treaters will join us on the new sheet on Nov. 1 to help work off the candy calories they consumed on Halloween!” he added.
The arena will open for its regular hours at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.
