OGDENSBURG -- Spring cleanup is underway in and will continue through most of May.
The last day for material to be put out as part of Spring Cleanup is May 22.
Those placing out piles for pickup should be aware that only yard waste will be picked up.
Yard waste includes brush, branches under 6-inches in diameter and less than 6-feet long, and leaves only. Thornhill says leaves should be in a separate pile if possible.
No bags or containers, will be emptied or picked up.
The city will not remove pet waste, construction debris, lumber of any kind, regular garbage or containers of any kind.
Yard waste must be located between the sidewalk and curb, not in the street and piles must not block fire hydrants, nor touch poles, bushes, or fences.
The city will not pick up debris or yard waste generated by a contractor.
