POTSDAM – St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies deployed spike strips to stop an allegedly intoxicated driver who faces multiple charges after an Oct. 4 police pursuit on Sweeney Road.
Paul J. Cameron was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop. Deputies say Cameron failed to comply with a traffic stop for a lighting violation. Deputies pursued Cameron into the Town of Potsdam and deployed spike strips to stop him.
Cameron was charged with unlawfully fleeing police, driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Deputies say his blood alcohol content was .23 percent.
Cameron was released to a third party on several tickets.
No injuries were reported.
