HAMMOND – A nearly $9,000 contribution to Spay/Neuter/Now (SNN) will help the non-profit keep the mobile pet surgical mobile clinic and their voucher programs going to help people get their pets neutered.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ support originates from their New York State Animal Population Control Program (APCP), a low-cost spay/neuter grant program.
“SNN is immensely grateful to the ASPCA for its support of spay/neuter programs,” said Kevin Mace L.V.T., general manager of Spay/Neuter/Now.
“Our mobile clinic and voucher programs enable us to provide these services to those who need it most, decrease the pet overpopulation and decrease the burden on area shelters.”
“Low-cost spay/neuter is a very important factor in helping alleviate pet overpopulation, so the ASPCA is glad to support SNN’s efforts to these vital services to pet owners in the community,” added Michael Barrett, vice president of grants management for the ASPCA.
SNN will use the grant funding to help cover operational costs of their low-cost mobile spay/neuter clinic for cats and their spay/neuter voucher program for dogs. Both SNN programs service all of St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties, in addition to parts of Lewis and Franklin counties.
SNN programs have performed or aided in over 12,000 sterilization surgeries since 1994.
All pet owners who are in need of financial assistance in order to spay/neuter their dog or cat should contact SNN to apply at 324-5969 or visit www.spayneuternow.org.
