COLTON – After sparse snow in December, a group from the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club was pleased to find good conditions for snowshoeing the trails of Stone Valley recently.
Fresh powder made for perfect conditions on a route from Brown's Bridge to Colton on the west side of the Raquette, returning on the east side.
The Colton Library welcomed them for lunch on the cold day.
The chapter has ski and snowshoe trips planned throughout the winter and welcomes the public. For info check www.adklaurentian.org or contact Marianne Hebert at hebertm@potsdam.edu or 265-0756.
