St. Lawrence County could see a thin sheet of ice by sunrise on Wednesday, if National Weather Service predictions come true.
They are calling for snow by 2 a.m. in Gouverneur, which should work its way north to the Massena-Ogdensburg area by 4 a.m.
The NWS says there is a 90 percent chance of a sleet/snow mix throughout the county by 4 a.m. Temperatures are forecast in the mid-20s.
Meteorologists say there is a 60 percent chance of rain/snow mix on Wednesday.
The Canton-Potsdam area is facing a chance of rain between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., whereas the Massena-Ogdensburg area is forecast to get wet by 10 a.m. Temperatures are predicted in the low-40s.
There is a 30 percent chance of snow by 9 p.m. on Wednesday night in Canton and Potsdam. Massena should see clear skies, and Ogdensburg is looking at a 30 percent chance of white stuff by 7 p.m.

This afternoon - Partly sunny, with a high near 27. East wind around 8 mph.
Tonight - Snow before 3am, then snow and sleet likely between 3am and 4am, then sleet likely after 4am. Low around 26. East wind 9 to 16 mph becoming south after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
