Snow expected throughout weekend, heaviest accumulation Saturday

North Country residents can expect a couple more inches of snow this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow is expected to begin tonight and continue through the weekend thanks to an upper level trough. Snow accumulation is expected to be highest Saturday thanks to lake effect snow showers, the service says. Lighter accumulation will continue Sunday and Monday.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the low to mid 20s through the weekend, dipping into the single digits at night, according to the service.

The snow is anticipated to stop Monday night, with temperatures dropping into the high negatives again, the service reports.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and in the high teens, with no precipitation expected by the weather service.

Snow is currently expected to return Tuesday night, however.
