MASSENA -- A high temperature record was set at Massena Monday, but there will be no high temp records today.

Massena’s high was 82 at about 3 p.m. at the airport, a record for April 14, according to the National Weather Service's comprehensive records.

The average high temperature for the date is 53.

The temperature dropped all day today, falling to the low 30s with snow by early afternoon.

Snow will continue throughout St. Lawrence County tonight and clear up by tomorrow with temperatures remaining around freezing, the National Weather Service predicts.

Because of the melting snow and new accumulation, the area is under a hazardous weather outlook and on flood watch through Monday and St. Lawrence County has declared a state of emergency. For details, view earlier story.

Most areas of the county are forecast to see low temperatures tonight of about 19 degrees, the exceptions being Massena with a predicted low of 21 degrees and Star Lake with a low of 15 degrees.

The sun should be out from tomorrow until Friday, the NWS says.

Temperatures should stay just above freezing tomorrow, 35 degrees in Canton and Potsdam and 36 degrees in Ogdensburg in Gouverneur.

Temperatures should climb into the lower 50s throughout the county on Thursday and the upper 50s on Friday, according the NWS.

Saturday is forecast to have a 40 percent chance of rain with temperatures in the low 50s.
