A fast moving cold front is expected to bring snow showers and possible snow squalls today to most of Northern New York, according to the National Weather Service.
These snow showers and squalls will likely continue into early this afternoon and then move off to the east, leaving behind mostly sunny skies and a high near 36.
The squalls will create very low visibility and the possibility of a quick dusting to 2 inches of snow.
This may result in slow travel conditions for a time, the NWS cautions.
The rest of the weekend, however, is looking decent weather-wise, with a sunny day on Saturday and highs around 39.
Temps will gradually climb to near 50 by Sunday, the NWS predicts, with another sunny day forecasted.
There’s a 40 percent chance of rain late Sunday night, but the temperature isn’t expected to go below 39.
A chance of rain is predicted for much of the week, with daytime temps ranging from high 30s to 47 on Monday.
