Small streams, saturated fields in St. Lawrence Valley could flood from persistent rain, forecasters warn

The National Weather Service is warning of possible small-stream flooding and flooding of already-saturated fields and poor drainage areas in the St. Lawrence Valley due to what the NWS calls “a long-duration precipitation event.”

The rain is expected to taper off some later this afternoon but persist through tomorrow morning, before picking up again Thursday afternoon.

Temperatures today and tonight are expected to stay in the 50s before warming to about 70 Wednesday.

The humidity and cool temperatures will make for some patchy fog today, tonight and Wednesday night, according to the NWS.

The outlook for Saturday and Sunday looks good, with sunny skies and temps in the 70s predicted.
