SLU ensembles in Canton accepting new members

CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University Music Department ensembles are accepting new members for the fall semester. The ensembles offer an eclectic mix of music making opportunities for students, faculty, staff and North Country community members.

The University Chorus doubles as Canton's community chorus and combines various vocal talents to perform a varied repertoire, such as Mozart's Requiem this fall. Contact: Barry Torres at btorres@stlawu.edu or 229-5171.

The String Orchestra will form the core instrumental ensemble for Mozart's Requiem. Contact: Chris Hosmer at cello@twcny.rr.com or 229-5144.

The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Kyle Tupper and assisted by Michael Farley. Contact: tupperkr191@gmail.com.

The Department of Performance and Communication Arts' main stage production will be Legally Blonde: The Musical, which is SLU's first musical since 1995. Contact: Tim Savage at attimsavag@twcny.rr.com.

The Rhythm & Roots Ensemble will present "Louisa!" with singer-songwriter and SLU alumna Louisa Stancioff. Contact: Michael Farley at mfarley@stlawu.edu.
