Low pressure will lift into eastern Canada and the steadier snow will gradually decrease across St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Many schools and courts cancelled due to the weather and home delivered meals from the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging cancelled for the day due to poor road conditions. The snow fell on parking lots and driveways that were already covered in ice. Caution is urged when walking outside or driving.

Additional snow accumulations of 1-4 inches is expected today, along with areas of freezing drizzle, the service says. A winter storm warning is in effect through 4 p.m. today.

Temperatures will warm into the upper 20s to mid 30s helping to improve road conditions by

midday across the North Country, NWS says. Mainly mountain snow showers prevail overnight with mainly dry conditions and normal temperatures for Thursday.
