CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Workforce Investment Board seeks proposals for tutors interested in working with youth in various parts of the county.
Thomas Plastino, Executive Director of the Workforce Investment Board said, “This Request for Proposals is designed to assist youth, ages 16 – 21, in acquiring the necessary basic skills to support their long term success in the labor market.”
The Workforce Investment Board oversees services to out of school youth, testing below ninth grade reading or math levels, who wish to start on a career path.
Through the Youth Council and the One-Stop Career Center in Canton, out of school youth are offered opportunities to develop work skills in a multitude of ways along with basic skills instruction to support their employment goals.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Feb. 1, 2013. A bidder’s conference will be held on Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. and again at 3 p.m. for interested parties who are seeking further information or have questions.
