OGDENSBURG -- St. Lawrence County Public Transit has a new logo and has added more stops on the Ogdensburg Intra-city Shuttle bus service.
The logo was designed by SUNY Canton graphic and multimedia design student Trevor Swinyer.
A pilot bus service in Ogdensburg that has been running throughout the city over the last four months “has proven to be a success,” according to NYSARC.
The bus run has been extended to run through June 1, 2019.
“During the pilot program, riders expressed a need for increased stops on the Ogdensburg Intra-city Shuttle line, so there are now more stops and decreased waiting time,” NYSARC said in an announcement.
The two new stops include Dollar General and Claxton-Hepburn’s Patterson Wound Healing Center.
A detailed schedule with departure times is located at slnysarc.org/public-transit.
A logo contest took place this spring for current high school and students. The winning logo, created by Swinyer, “highlights the County’s natural beauty and includes St. Lawrence County Public Transit’s ‘Connecting Communities’ motto,” NYSARC said.
Swinyer received a $250 prize for winning the logo contest.
Support for public transit is provided through a grant that is funded from the Federal Transit Administration and New York State Department of Transportation.
The system is operated by St. Lawrence NYSARC. St Lawrence County’s Public Transit provides transportation throughout most towns in the county Monday to Friday.
Rides cost $2 each way and exact fare or token is required.
Tokens and ride passes are available for purchase at 6 Commerce Lane in Canton, NY. Call 315-386-2600 or find us on Facebook @SLCPublicTransit for more information.
