Old Man Winter seems to want to give us in the North Country one last taste of the cold before finally releasing us to spring. Temperatures will reach the upper 20s in the St. Lawrence River Valley but will be a few degrees cooler in the Star Lake-Cranberry Lake area, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies will be partly sunny today, clear overnight, and sunny Sunday.

Isolated to scatted snow showers will be possible across the North Country through today before drier air moves into the area. The cold dry air will keep temperatures below normal through the weekend, the NWS says.

To start the work week a cold front will bring a chance of rain and snow showers to the area with a warming trend that will begin Monday and lead to temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s by the end of the week.
