Six spectators injured during stunt motorycle show at St. Lawrence County Fair

GOUVERNEUR -- An accident during the Wall of Death motorcycle stunt show at the St. Lawrence County Fair sent six people to the hospital, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.

Deputies said that Sampie A. Noakes was performing his show around 8:40 p.m. when his bike climbed too high on the wall and the right side foot board of the motorcycle caught the cable at the top of the wall.

The motorcycle then exited the arena landing in the crowd injuring six spectators, deputies said.

Noakes was reportedly thrown to the ground.

Alll of the injured were taken to Gouveneur Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, officers said.

Sherrif's deputies were assisted on scene by Gouverneur Fire and Rescue Departments and the New York State Police Department.
