Moisture will linger over the North Country today with lots of cloud cover and the chance of some showers into tonight, according to the National Weather Service. High temperatures will be in the 60s today with lows tonight near 50.

Clouds are expected to move out Monday with a high near 70.

Forecasters say Monday night will be a chilly one with clear skies, light winds and lows in the 40s.

Under full sunlight Tuesday, forecasters predict we`ll warm up to the mid 70s as some high clouds begin to move in from the west, setting us up for showers Wednesday morning, which are expected to continue into Thursday.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and the northwestern Adirondacks:

• Today: Patchy drizzle with a slight chance of showers before 11am, then a chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 68. North wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Tonight: Showers likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 51. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Monday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 69. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

• Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the morning.

• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable.

• Wednesday: Showers likely after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
