POTSDAM -- Clarkson University’s Shipley Center for Innovation will get $75,000 from FuzeHub to outfit its North Country Business Incubator with a “whole-building” compressed air system critical to the operations of tenants such as motor design innovator LC Drives.

Clarkson’s Damon Hall, where the air system will be installed, is designed to house light manufacturing start-ups like LC Drives, whose unique motor designs are half the size and more efficient than current leading motor designs, and will provide long-term benefits to other young manufacturing companies in the North Country.

FuzeHub, a not-for-profit organization assisting small to medium-sized manufacturing companies in New York State by matching them with technical and business resources, recently launched the Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation Fund. Lawrence, who passed away in 2015, was a top executive at the Center for Economic Growth, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) center for the Capital Region, and a champion for New York manufacturing and entrepreneurial communities.
