CANTON – The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office has charged Derron R. Pool, 22, an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, with second-degree assault following an investigation of an incident on July 13.
Pool is alleged to have struck another inmate in the face with a metal tray and punched him in the face, causing injury, according to deputies.
Pool was arraigned on the charge, a Class D felony, in Canton Town Court and was returned to jail, with bail set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bail bond.
