The New York State Sheriff’s Association Institute’s honorary membership drive will begin soon, according the St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin Wells.
The not-for-profit tax-exempt organization provides a centralized training program and services for all sheriff’s offices statewide.
They also sponsor and run the Sheriff’s Summer Camp for economically challenged children –about 30 from St. Lawrence County attend every year -- and many other services for county law enforcement and the general public.
Sheriff Wells is urging county residents to consider becoming an honorary member of the institute, supporting their programs.
You may receive an invitation the mail, not on the phone, or you may visit www.sheriffsinstitute.org.
