POTSDAM -- Shawn Seymour of Hannawa Falls has been recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Potsdam.
Seymour was honored for his demonstrated commitment to the goals and purposes of Rotary and "in appreciation of his tangible assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world."
The club made a $1,000 donation in Seymour's name to the Rotary Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International.
Seymour has worked tirelessly as treasurer of the Rotary Club of Potsdam for nearly a decade.
Senior accountant at Clarkson University, he joined the club in 2007, and has served on its board nearly as long.
Seymour is currently chairing the Potsdam Rotary Duck Pluck, has chaired and co-chaired several wine/beer/food tasting events, and works on nearly every Rotary project and program, including the Potsdam Holiday Fund food baskets, Wheelchair Challenge, annual scholarship golf tournament, Dodge Pond projects, and School's Out summer food drive.
The Potsdam Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at noon at the Elks Lodge in Potsdam. Guests are welcome.
