Seven charged in Clifton area prostitution investigation

CLIFTON -- Six Newton Falls residents and a Fort Drum man face charges stemming from prostitution investigation that was first reported to state police Aug. 14.

Details on the incident have not been released as it is still under investigation, but more information is expected today, according to state police.

State police said those charged include:

• Kayla M. Iser-Smith, 26, Newton Falls was charged with two counts of prostitution, sixth-degree conspiracy and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Her status was listed as held.

• Garret N. Srathmann, 18, Newton Falls, was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy and released on an appearance ticket.

• Tyler A. Strathmann, 20, Newton Falls, was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy and issued an appearance ticket.

• Deandre L. Croker, 18, Newton Falls, was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy and issued an appearance ticket.

• Alyssa M. Flores, 25, Newton Falls, was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy and released on an appearance ticket.

• Joaquin J. Croker, 20, Newton Falls, was charged with making a false written statement and issued an appearance ticket.

• Aaron D. Meredith, 44, Fort Drum, was charged with third-degree patronizing a prostitute and providing a false written statement. He was released on appearance tickets.

State police said their investigation is still open.
