Severe storm brings quarter-sized hail, lightning to Massena, Brasher, Norfolk

MASSENA -- Quarter sized hail was reported at 7:25 p.m. in Massena, Norfolk and Brasher Falls Tuesday, according to Stormersite.com.

The storm was reported over the emergency broadcast system across St. Lawrence County radio stations at around the [img_assist|nid=174507|title=Photo by Robert Davis|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=250|height=228]same time.

That broadcast warned residents of potential vehicle damage and even advised taking shelter in basement areas for those North East of Massena.

Photos submitted by viewers also showed trees leveled in the roadway in the Norfolk area.

Air to ground lightning and 60 mph hour winds were also reported by the broadcast.
