POTSDAM -- Seven educators from Lawrence Avenue Elementary School recently traveled to New York City to visit classrooms and attend workshops at Columbia University’s Teachers College in Harlem.
Lawrence Avenue is implementing a writer’s workshop as part of their writing curriculum.
While in NYC , the teachers observed other teachers using the workshop model in their classrooms.
“This was a great opportunity for our staff to learn how to hone their craft,” said Lawrence Avenue Elementary School Principal Jennifer Gray.
The trip was made possible through donations from the Potsdam Educational Opportunity Fund (PEOF) and the Potsdam Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).
“We are very fortunate to have their support in providing top quality education for our students and staff,” said Gray.
