OGDENSBURG -- Seven Ogdensburg city employees were honored Monday for a combined 205 years of service.
Ogdensburg mayor William Nelson presented the service awards on behalf of the New York Conference of Mayors. Nelson pointed out that the seven employees total years of service added up to a longer period of time that the city has existed.
Mayor Nelson and other city councilors in attendance offered their appreciation to each of the employees.
Three police officers where among those honored including Ogdensburg City Police Chief Richard Polniak with 35 years, lieutenant Harry McCarthy with 30 years and lieutenant Andrew Kennedy.
Also honored were two members of the code enforcement agency including Cynthia Ghize with 30 years and Gregg Mallete with 25 years.
Gregg Harland was honored for 35 years of service at the Department of Public Works along with Dennis Montry who had 25 years of service as a city employee.
