State Senator Patty Ritchie is seeking World War II veterans for her “Veterans Voices” program.
The program is designed to preserve veterans’ experiences for future generations and create a permanent record of their service.
Ritchie will offer interview times at her Ogdensburg office Oct. 14 to Oct. 30. Interviews will be submitted to the Military Museum and Veterans Research Center before Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Ritchie has partnered with the state Military Museum and Veterans Research Center to submit more than two-dozen interviews of local veterans over the last two years.
Ritchie is seeking more stories, hoping to speak with as many veterans as possible, beginning with those who served in WWII. She plans to include veterans of other wars, as well as peacetime, in the future.
“From 1941 to 1945, more than one million New Yorkers - many of whom today live in our region - answered America’s call to serve their country, and each one has a story to tell,” said Ritchie.
To schedule an interview call Ritchie’s Watertown office at 782-3418.
