Several St. Lawrence County libraries will split $32,000 in state funding, according to a release issued by Sen. Patricia Ritchie.
“As summer draws to a close and students return to the classroom, many turn their focus towards getting back to the books,” Ritchie said.
Rensselaer Fall, Edwards, Waddington and Morley libraries will receive $3,000 each. Ogdensburg, Canton, Gouverneur and Heuvelton Libraries will receive $5,000 each.
“Our area’s libraries are an outstanding educational resource, not only for students but adults as well. I am thrilled to be able to provide this funding, which will go a long way towards increasing access to educational opportunities, entertainment, job-search tools and so much more at the many libraries throughout our region.”
Sen. Ritchie represents the St. Lawrence County towns of Canton, De Kalb, DePeyster, Edwards, Fowler, Gouvernor, Hammond, Hermon, Lisbon, Louisville, Macomb, Madrid, Morristown, Oswegatchie, Rossie, Waddington and the City of Ogdensburg, and all of Oswego and Jefferson Counties.
