Sen. Ritchie seeks nods for state Senate Veterans Hall of Fame

Posted

State Senator Patty Ritchie is taking nominations for the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame.

The deadline is April 10.

Ritchie describes the honor as “an initiative created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life.”

Veterans’ posts, family members, friends and community leaders in and St. Lawrence County can make nominations. Nomination forms are available for download on www.ritchie.nysenate.gov. Those without access to a computer can have a form mailed to them by calling 782-3418.

“The brave men and women of our nation’s armed forces sacrifice lives of stability to put everything on the line in the name of protecting our freedom,” Ritchie said. “This special honor is just one small way we can thank our veterans for their sacrifices. Once again, I am looking forward to honoring those who even after their time of service, have continued to work to give back and make a difference in their local communities.”

Ritchie represents the 48th Senate District. It includes most of western St. Lawrence County, including Ogdensburg, Canton and Gouverneur. It extends into Jefferson and Oswego counties.
