OGDENSBURG – State Sen. Patty Ritchie will continue to operate an office at Ogdensburg City Hall.
The city renewed the lease for $210 per month, which amounts to $2,520 per year.
At recent meeting Ogdensburg Mayor William Nelson said the city was fortunate to have the one of the senator’s three satellite offices located in its municipal building.
Nelson said the office is staffed and is nearly always busy. He said city and county residents are often stopping in to speak with the senator’s representatives.
“It’s a great benefit to the community,” he said.
Nelson said it’s also a benefit for the city council because it allows for easy communication between city and state lawmakers.
“We are very lucky,” he said at the meeting.
Sen. Ritchie represents several towns in St. Lawrence County including Canton, Morristown, Oswegatchie and Lisbon. She also represents the City of Ogdensburg.
